Song/Poem Literary Devices assignment due Monday. Here is an example showing one way you can identify the devices in your song/poem. Notice the line chosen to be the example is highlighted and there is an arrow indicating which device is being used. Notice, there is no explanation in this example. For the assignment: 1) Identify five examples of five different literary devices being used anywhere in your song/poem. - For each example, define the literary device used - Explain how your sentence is an example of that device. - Re-write the sentence in plain words (if the device used imagery. This means, that a true rhyme for example is already in simple words, it just rhymes, so you wouldn't need to re-write the line. However, if you identified a metaphor, simile, personification, or hyperbole, then you need to re-write it in simple words). 2) Explain the general meaning of the song.
